Physical chemistry is one of the earliest disciplines in the College of Chemistry at Fuzhou University. In March 2014, the Department of Chemistry was divided into the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, the Department of Organic Chemistry, the Department of Analytic Chemistry and the Department of Physical Chemistry.
The Department of Physical Chemistry has a strong teaching faculty of 26 members, of which 14 are full professors and 10 are associate professors, 1 professor has obtained the national “Thousand Talents Program” Distinguished Professor, 2 professors have been awarded Minjiang Scholar Distinguished Professors by Fujian Provincial Government, 1 professor has been selected as Qishan Scholar Professor. Through the tremendous efforts made by several generations of our Chemists, the discipline of Physical Chemistry has gradually developed into an advanced teaching and research center inChinawith substantial influence internationally.
The Department of Physical Chemistry in the College of Chemistry features excellent teaching conditions with a National Key Discipline (Physical Chemistry), a Graduate Student Innovation Education Research Base in Fujian Province (Physical Chemistry), a National Fine Course with Resources to Share (Structural Chemistry), and a National Fine Course (Structural Chemistry). The Department of Physical Chemistry is responsible for teaching over 20 courses for both the undergraduate and postgraduate, such as Physical Chemistry, Structural Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Spectroscopy analysis, Catalytic Chemistry, Principles of Photochemistry, etc.
We hope that our effort could promote the advancement of the discipline of physical chemistry, and pass on the academic tradition of excellence and innovation in the College of Chemistry at Fuzhou University.
