The Institute of Organofluorine Chemistry at Fuzhou University was founded in 2014. The Institute aims at strengthening the fundamental investigations in organofluorine chemistry, enhancing the competence of the chemistry of Fuzhou University, and promoting the training of the organic research expertise.
There are 8 faculty members including 2 Minjiang Scholar Professors, and 3 PhD Candidate Supervisors. Furthermore, the Institute currently has about 40 doctoral or master students.
The research interests of the Institute include: 1) Organofluorine chemistry; 2) Functional organic molecules; 3) Directing organic synthesis; 4) Novel drug design and synthesis.
Its scientific researches have been mainly funded by the projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, projects of the Natural Science Foundation and the Key Projects of Fujian Province. It is noted that up to now we have published more than 200 high-level papers. Moreover, the staffs of the Institute have actively participated in the academic exchanges with their domestic and foreign counterparts. It has well established some research collaborations with the research groups in theUnited States,Britain,Singaporeand other countries.
