Sponsored by Chinese Chemical Society and co-organized by Fuzhou University, CAS Laboratory of Ornanofluorine Chemistry and Xi'an Modern Chemistry Research Institute, the 14th CCS National Meeting on Fluorine Chemistry was held in the Yishan Building, Yishan Campus of Fuzhou University from Nov.19 to Nov.20, 2016.
More than 400 representatives from over 80 institutes inChina,FranceandJapanattended the meeting. Some domestic institutes are Tsinghua University, Peking University, Nankai University, Nanjing University, Sun Yet-sen University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Shanghai University and CAS institutes.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Weng Zhiqiang, Director of the Institute of Organofluorine Chemistry. Prof. Wang Xinchen, Dean of the College of Chemistry, delivered the opening speech. The meeting sponsored by CCS is held every two years, beingChina’s most influential event in the field of fluorine chemistry.
This meeting aims at providing an interactive platform for Chinese colleagues, promoting the in-depth exchanges between researchers in fluorine chemistry, boosting the industry-university-research exchanges and cooperation in fluorine chemistry in China, and exploring the key issues like the latest research progress and trend in such frontier fields as fluorine chemistry, fluorine chemical, and fluorine in pharmaceuticals, pesticides and functional materials.
The meeting received 187 papers including 39 oral presentations and over 160 wall newspapers. At the meeting, Hu Jinbo, researcher of Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, and Professor Malanie Sanford from the University of Michigan, were awarded certificates of the 3rd Chinese Chemical Society W.-Y. Huang Fluorine Prize.
The two-day discussion and exchanges achieved a series of results, in which two wall newspapers of Fuzhou University won the "Excellent Wall Newspaper Prize". The meeting came to an end on the afternoon of November 20. The closing ceremony was presided over by Zhao Gang, researcher of the CAS Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. Prof. Weng Zhiqiang had
some concluding remarks. Meanwhile, Hu Jinbo, Researcher of the CAS Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry announced that Shanghai would host the 15th CCS National Meeting on Fluorine Chemistry in 2018.
