On the morning of October 28, the 19th Chinese Conference on Molecular Spectroscopy and the 2016 Spectroscopy Annual Meeting was held in Fuzhou. Prof. Huang Zhigang, Vice President of Fuzhou University, and Prof. Shi Bingwen, Secretary of CPC Committee of the College of Chemistry attended the opening ceremony.
The conference was co-sponsored by Chinese Optical Society and Chinese Chemical Society, co-organized by CAS Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter and Minjiang University. Nearly 600 representatives from over 120 institutes inChina, theUS,Japanand ROK attended the conference. The domestic institutes include Peking University, Tsinghua University, Jilin University, Xiamen University, and CAS institutes.
Mr. Guo Guocong with the CAS Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter presided over the opening ceremony. The opening remarks were from Prof. Xie Mengxia of the Beijing Normal University, Mr. Lan Guozheng, Vice President of CAS Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, and CAS Academician Wu Xintao. The Chinese Conference on Molecular Spectroscopy is the most important one of its kind inChina.
At the conference, a series of new spectral technologies such as the two-dimensional correlation spectrum, IR, Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence spectra, ultraviolet spectra, atomic spectra were widely discussed. And the attendees exchanged their ideas about the new theories, methods, technologies, applications and development directions in the field. The conference received almost 320 paper abstracts, arranged a 20 plenary lectures, and 39 invited lectures, 27 oral presentations, 20 Youth forum presentations and over 120 wall newspapers.
Four papers of Fuzhou University won "Excellent Paper Award" and "Excellent Wall Newspaper Prize" respectively. The closing ceremony was presided over by Prof. Xie Mengxia of Beijing Normal University. At the end of the meeting it was announced that Qingdao would host the 20th Chinese Conference on Molecular Spectroscopy in 2018.
